Oregon Department of Education Adopts Curriculum Associates' i-Ready® and Ready® Common Core Mathematics for Grades K-8
Adoption of 6-8 makes program the first and only to receive perfect scores and an exemplary rating across all K-8 grade levels
SALEM, Ore., Oct. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Oregon State Board of Education has now adopted Curriculum Associates' i-Ready and Ready Common Core Mathematics programs for use in all K–8 classrooms across the state. Built for the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), the programs are the only ones in the history of the adoption process to receive a perfect score and an exemplary rating across all K–8 grade levels during the Oregon Instructional Materials Evaluation Process conducted by the Oregon Department of Education. According to the department, the programs received this score based on their alignment to the Oregon Common Core State Standards in Mathematics.
During the reviews for grades K–2, 3–5, and 6–8 materials, i-Ready and Ready Common Core Mathematics earned 66 out of 66 points and scored 100% on all evaluation criteria. The programs were rated as 'Exemplary' on alignment to the CCSS in both Mathematical Content and Mathematical Practices. The programs were additionally rated as 'Exemplifying Quality' in all four review sections.
"We are thrilled to bring the first-ever K–8 math program to receive a perfect score and an exemplary rating to classrooms in Oregon," said Rob Waldron, CEO of Curriculum Associates. "These perfect scores reflect years of investment in our products and technology and our mission to improve the lives of teachers and students."
Built from scratch by strictly following the Publishers' Criteria for the Common Core State Standards, Ready Common Core Mathematics emphasizes conceptual understanding through reasoning, modeling, and discussion that explores the structure of mathematics while also developing students' procedural fluency. The program uses a research-based, proven-effective, gradual-release instructional model that balances conceptual understanding and procedural fluency to build confidence and mastery of the Common Core Mathematics Standards.
