ORC International Hires Oliver Rust as Managing Director for the Asia/Pacific Region, succeeding Greg Wayman
MELBOURNE, Australia, Oct. 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading global business intelligence firm ORC International announced today the retirement of Asia/Pacific Managing Director Greg Wayman per December 31, 2015, and the recruitment of Oliver Rust as his successor.
When Greg Wayman and Paul Chong sold their firm, NWC Research to ORC International in 2007, both became members of ORC's Global Leadership Team, with increasing responsibilities and success. While Paul, with his family moved to the US, has taken on a leading role in technology integration, Greg stayed in Melbourne, responsible for the AP region, solidifying ORC's position and driving significant growth in revenues and profitability.
ORC International CEO Simon Kooyman commented: "Acquisitions of entrepreneurial marketing services firms are often followed by the exit of the management teams soon after the earn-out period. We have been lucky and privileged to see the NWC team continue to take a leading role in the global development and growth of the company. Not only the Asia Pacific region, but ORC as a whole has benefited tremendously from the inspiring leadership of Greg. On a personal level, working with Greg has been a real pleasure and I am sure that all in and around ORC are wishing Greg a splendid time ahead."
Emphasizing the ambition for further expansion of its operations in the region, ORC International has hired Hong Kong-based senior exec Oliver Rust. He will be responsible for ORC International's offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai, with Craig Young, MD of ORC International Australia reporting in to him. As a member of ORC International's Global Leadership Team, he will play a leading role in partnering with the other Engine companies in the region, currently DeepFocus and MHP.
Oliver Rust joins ORC International from The Nielsen Company, where he was Global Senior Vice President, Financial Services. Prior to this, he held a number of senior executive positions within Nielsen including Managing Director, Hong Kong and various senior roles in China and Taiwan. He began his career in market research with TNS in the UK.
Simon Kooyman added: "We are delighted to have someone of Oliver's senior management caliber joining ORC International. With his depth of knowledge of the Asia region, combined with his extensive experience across many facets of our industry on the global stage, Oliver will be instrumental for a new era of growth for ORC in the region and beyond. His passion for embracing the new industry paradigm, which is being defined by big data in the digital age, will help us stay at the forefront of a rapidly changing environment."
"It is a very exciting time to be part of ORC International with its continuing drive to unearth the decision making process of consumers and helping its clients in the Asia Pacific region grow. As a part of Engine, ORC's capabilities provide a great platform to converge and accelerate the use of end-to-end information in this increasingly complex, fragmented digital environment. ORC is focused and continuously investing to increase its presence in this region and I feel fortunate to be a member of the team." said Oliver Rust.
Oliver Rust will start on November 10th, 2015.
