Orange Care Group's Florida IPA Joins Atlantic Coast Health Network to Expand High-Quality Patient Choice
MIAMI, Oct. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Orange Care Group, LLC's Independent Physician Association ("IPA") is the first independent, physician-led organization to join the Atlantic Coast Health Network ("ACHN")—Memorial Health Network's and Holy Cross Physician Partners' Super Clinically Integrated Network ("Super-CIN"). With the addition of Orange's network, the Super CIN will now collectively manage more than 1,650 physicians and over 160,000 lives.
Clinical integration is the collaboration between physicians, ancillary health providers and hospitals with the goal of improving the health of a community in a patient-centered way. CINs coordinate care across the health care continuum to ensure the right care is delivered at the right place at the right time—all at the right cost. CINs focus on patient satisfaction as well as quality of care and outcomes, while optimizing healthcare utilization and costs.
In looking to further broaden ACHN's reach across South Florida's tri-county area, the Super CIN found a match with Orange through aligned missions and commitment to value-based healthcare. Both organizations see data driven population health management as a key mechanism to bring together disparate Electronic Health Record platforms, implement better care coordination protocols, and create standardized, best-practice, patient care management programs.
By working together, ACHN and Orange are ushering in an era of trans-institutional coordination by integrating beyond their respective organizations. This collaboration sets a new standard for value-focused transformations in South Florida, which until recently has remained largely steeped in old models of fee-for-service care compared to other major metropolitan areas.
"Adding a national leader in value-based care such as Orange to ACHN's collaboration will further enhance our ability to provide high-quality, patient-centered care and to better manage population health," said Matt Muhart, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at Memorial Healthcare System.
Patrick A. Taylor, MD, MBA, President and Chief Executive Officer of Holy Cross Hospital, added: "We continue to recognize that collaboration is crucial to better serving our community, which is why we are thrilled to have Orange join our Super CIN given their proven results in delivering high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care to the communities they serve."
"As Orange continues to build our network in order to offer patients better access to high-quality care and experiences, it was important for us to find a partner such as ACHN who shares an aligned dedication to value-based care," explained Lissette Exposito, RN, BSN, MHSA, Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Orange Care Group. "Fostering this type of collaboration amongst providers and organizations is the future of healthcare in America."

About Atlantic Coast Health Network
With the expanded relationship achieved through ACHN, the collaboration provides enhanced care coordination for residents in the tri-county region, making it easier to share important health information across the healthcare continuum, so providers involved in a patient's care support the same treatment plan. This collaboration also helps to transition the region's healthcare system from one that reimburses for quantity of services to one that rewards the quality of patients' health outcomes while seeking to make care more affordable.
