SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Oracle OpenWorld -- Oracle today announced three major enhancements to Oracle Big Data Platform Cloud. The new services deliver critical capabilities essential to Big Data projects, and enable customers to simplify and accelerate data-driven business outcomes while making it easier for them to leverage adaptive intelligence in their own applications and services.
Big Data projects are critical to innovation, but can be challenging to execute due to complexity and the gap in skills required to coordinate all the necessary pieces. To help customers address these issues and more easily manage the entire Big Data lifecycle, Oracle is announcing integrated Big Data services in Oracle Cloud Platform.
"Big Data initiatives are an important part of growing an organization, but the process is still complex and challenging for everyone involved," said Greg Pavlik, senior vice president and CTO, Oracle Cloud Platform. "By delivering an end-to-end, unified platform that simplifies and accelerates Big Data analytics projects in the cloud, we are minimizing challenges and helping customers increase their rate of success. Our vision is to empower our customers to analyze any type of data from any source for everyone."
Unveils Oracle Analytics Cloud, Data Lake Edition, for Big Data Analytics
Oracle is unveiling Oracle Analytics Cloud, Data Lake Edition, which unlocks Big Data analytics at scale on Oracle Big Data Cloud and Apache Spark. With Oracle Analytics Cloud, Data Lake, any analyst can now explore all data in data lakes, blend it with personal, enterprise, or external sources to discover new insights, rapidly enhance and enrich those data sets and persist them by creating data flows that are executed at scale. A built-in fast layer with Oracle Essbase and Oracle Database Cloud serves the resultant data across the enterprise, delivering fast, interactive visualization and a layer of governance on Big Data. The platform further enhances analytics by providing recommendations for data enrichment and visualization powered by machine learning to make analytics users more productive.
Oracle Analytics Cloud, Data Lake Edition, also introduces automatic creation of machine learning models, which can be applied inline to intelligently augment data and data flow creation and execution. In addition, analysts can draw from hundreds of Oracle Advanced Analytics and Spark functions to further enrich their data and data flows.
Oracle Analytics Cloud is tightly integrated with Oracle Integration Cloud and Oracle Big Data Cloud. Together, this unified platform offers low total cost of ownership for the most comprehensive set of analytics capabilities in the industry, from self-service visualization and data preparation on data at any scale to enterprise reporting, advanced analytics, dynamic user-driven modeling, and self-learning mobile analytics that provide proactive insights.
Adds AI Capabilities to Oracle Big Data Cloud
Oracle has embedded three machine learning and analytics capabilities in Oracle Big Data Cloud, which minimize data movement and accelerate results. Oracle R Advanced Analytics for Hadoop accelerates the algorithms available in SparkMLlib up to 32X; GPU support for Apache Spark and TensorFlow frameworks further accelerate algorithm performance for deep learning analytics; and Oracle Big Data Spatial and Graph enables customers to discover relationships and connections among customers, organizations, and assets, and enrich multi-structured data with location information.
Oracle Big Data Cloud also now includes Oracle Big Data Connectors to provide faster and easier data movement between Oracle Database and data lakes. Additionally, Oracle Event Hub Cloud also delivers a fully automated way to persist streaming data into Oracle Storage Cloud and integrates with Oracle Data Integration Platform Cloud, helping to make building data lakes in the cloud both easier and cheaper than ever before.
Finally, Oracle is announcing two new services: Oracle Graph Cloud Service is a fully managed, highly scalable, graph database and analytics engine with integrated development and visualization tools. Oracle NoSQL Database Cloud Service is the only fully managed NoSQL database that gives customers the choice of storing their data in the Oracle Cloud or in their own datacenter.
Unveils Data Integration Platform Cloud
Oracle is announcing the Oracle Data Integration Platform Cloud Service, which delivers unified, comprehensive enterprise-grade data ingestion and ETL capabilities. The service also features a push-down processing model for both streaming and batch ETL data pipelines for next-generation data ingestion from all Oracle and non-Oracle data sources and applications. Additionally, the service supports a wide range of data cleansing, data catalog, and metadata solutions for commonplace enterprise data sources to help ensure correct data usage and regulatory compliance.
Already an industry-recognized leader in streaming data platforms, Oracle Stream Analytics has been enhanced to run natively from Oracle Cloud Platform. Oracle Stream Analytics is based on core Big Data technologies like Apache Kafka and Apache Spark, and is tightly integrated with Oracle Big Data Cloud and Oracle Event Hub Cloud.
