OPWDD IRMA Interfacing in Therap for New York Incident Reports
Developmental disabilities software provider develops electronic interface for OPWDD IRMA
WATERBURY, Conn., Dec. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- For developmental disabilities support providers in New York, Therap has developed an electronic system to interface with the OPWDD IRMA (Incident Reporting and Management Application).
OPWDD requires developmental disabilities support providers in New York to submit all reportable incidents, seriously reportable incidents and allegations of abuse (defined in the 14 NY CRR Part 624 Handbook) to Developmental Disabilities Services Offices (DDSO) through the OPWDD Incident Report and Management Application (IRMA).
"Therap has been working with New York OPWDD to develop an electronic IRMA interface for Therap's web-based incident report management system," said Kevin Lightle, Therap's Regional Director of Training and Support. "The goal is to take away the need to complete duplicate documentation." The electronic interface will allow users to complete Therap incident reports (including OPWDD 147 forms), and then export them in a special XML format, built to OPWDD IRMA field specifications. The XML can then be uploaded into IRMA.
Therap offers the full range of documentation software services for the New York developmental disabilities community. The web-based application suite is continuously upgraded to comply with OPWDD, DDSO, OMIG, and CMS standards. Therap incident reports support the OPWDD 147 form and comply with Jonathan's Law. In addition to its generic suite of web-based applications (e.g., electronic health records, progress notes, individual and emergency data forms and behavior tracking), Therap offers New York specific Individual Service Plans (ISP), habilitation plans, Individual Plan of Protective Oversight and Safeguards (IPOP), and Medicaid Service Coordination (MSC) notes. Therap also provides an Electronic Billing system for residential habilitation, day habilitation and other ICF/DD service providers in New York.
With Therap Electronic Billing system, OPWDD institutional claims can be directly sent to the eMedNY - Electronic Medicaid system of the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH). The software has been approved by the Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) - MMIS Vendor for eMedNy and NYSDOH for HIPAA v5010 electronic claim production in New York.
