SKIPTON, England, Nov. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- OPW, part of Dover (NYSE: DOV) and a global leader in fluid handling, management, monitoring and control solutions, is excited to announce that it will be exhibiting and has been nominated for two (2) awards at APEA Live 2018, a leading retail fuelling industry exhibition and conference held in Milton Keynes, UK on November 22.
Among other fuelling innovations, OPW will be showcasing its Fibrelite sumps and KPS piping solutions, two product lines nominated for both the APEA Environmental Protection and Improvement award, recognised for providing complete containment over a forecourt's lifecycle; and the APEA Best Non-Retail Fuel Installation award for a complex bi-fuel turbine project located near Madagascar.
"We are very proud of these nominations," stated Ian Thompson, Managing Director of OPW EMEA, based in Skipton, UK. "As a company, our primary purpose is to help protect people and the environment while enhancing the business performance of our customers. These nominations recognise OPW for its efforts in doing this."
The following is an overview of each award for which OPW has been nominated:
- Environmental Protection and Improvement - water ingress and fuel egress from sumps is a global problem on filling stations, causing safety and environmental issues. OPW's Fibrelite sumps offer the only truly liquid-tight solution, which, combined with KPS piping (ATEX and IEC compliant) provides a sustainable solution ensuring complete containment for the lifecycle of the site.
- Best New Non-Retail Fuel Installation - while retail fuelling is OPW's primary focus, the company also applies its expertise to non-retail fuel projects. This nomination highlights an installation at a newly built bi-fuel turbine (diesel and ethanol) thermal power plant on Saint-Pierre, Réunion island near Madagascar. OPW worked with the company to provide a safe solution using Fibrelite sumps and KPS piping.
