Optanix Achieves ISO 27001, SSAE-18 SOC 1 Type 2 and HIPAA-HITECH Security Recertification
Security of the Optanix Platform and IT Management-as-a-Service Solutions Continues to Lead the IT Operations Industry
NEW YORK, June 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Optanix, the leader in ensuring predictable IT for the world's most technology-driven companies, today announced that it has achieved recertification on a series of credentials that are critical to secure monitoring and management of IT environments. The scope of the recertification is the Information Security Management System (ISMS) that is integral to Optanix's network management, operational support services and remote managed systems, including the Optanix Platform and IT Management-as-a-Service (ITMaaS) solutions.
Optanix has been recertified on the following:
- ISO/IEC 27001:2013. ISO 27001 is a standard published by the International Organization for Standardization that specifies security management best practices and comprehensive security controls to be incorporated within a rigorous security program, which includes the development, implementation and ongoing management of the ISMS by Optanix. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Optanix has earned ISO 27001 certification.
- Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE-18), Service Organization Controls (SOC 1 Type 2) report. This auditing standard demonstrates that Optanix has effective internal controls in place governing financial reporting as required by customers that adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and that Optanix has managed these controls over the past 12 months. Optanix has achieved SSAE SOC 1 Type 2 attestation for nine consecutive years, including preceding standards.
- Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), including HIPAA Security Rule and HITECH breach notification attestation and compliance. This attestation confirms that Optanix implemented and maintains the relevant safeguards, standards and rules that meet the data privacy requirements established by HIPAA.

The audits were performed by Schellman & Company, LLC, an ANAB and UKAS accredited certification body based in the United States.
