Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) Launches on Cox Communications in Northern Virginia
Customers Gain Access to 24/7 Network Devoted to Discovery and Connecting Best Self
HERNDON, Va., Dec. 16, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications will begin offering the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), a 24/7 cable network devoted to self-discovery and connecting to your best self and to the world, in Fairfax County and Fredericksburg, Va. Jan. 2011.
The new channel will feature programming on health, home, and relationships, along with stories of strength and transformation. Slated shows include: Ask Oprah's All Stars, with Dr. Phil, Suze Orman, and Dr. Mehmet Oz; Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes; Anna and Kristina's Grocery Bag; Enough Already! with organization expert Peter Walsh; Miracle Detectives; Mystery Diagnosis; Our America with Lisa Ling; and more.
Discovery Networks recently announced that OWN will replace the Discovery Health Channel in the same channel location. OWN will be seen on channel 149 in Fairfax County and channel 99 in Fredericksburg for Cox Advanced TV and Bonus Pak customers.

The new service will deliver a round-the-clock slate of vintage TV series reruns and movies from Sony and DLT Entertainment, including Three's Company, Benny Hill, The Nanny, and The Monkees.
