Opportunities for Funding: U.S.-Israel Cooperation in Innovative Technologies - Stimulates, Promotes and Supports Industrial R&D
TEL AVIV, Israel, August 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
New Call for Proposals announced by the BIRD Foundation, in cooperation with the U.S. Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Israel Ministry of Economy, Office of the Chief Scientist.
Research and development topics within the scope of this call include but are not limited to:
- Agro-Tech
- Cleantech and Environment
- Communications
- Electronics
- Fintech
- Gas
- Homeland Security and Cyber Security
- Life Sciences
- Software
The conditional grant per joint proposal covers up to 50% of the R&D costs associated with the joint project. The maximum grant is $1 million per project.
To be considered, a project proposal must include R&D cooperation between two companies, one from the U.S. and one from Israel. The proposal needs to have significant commercial potential and the project outcome should lead to commercialization.
The application process is web-based and requires prior discussion with BIRD staff.
- Executive summaries are due by September 16, 2014
- Full proposals are due by October 22, 2014
- Final decisions on the selected projects will be made in December 2014.
