AT&T, Inc. Analyst Notes
On June 3, 2014, AT&T, Inc. (AT&T) announced that its Project VIP network transformation plan has progressed ahead of schedule. The Company's stated that its 4G LTE network now covers almost 290 million people while its Project VIP broadband build is expected to take fiber to more than 400,000 new business customer locations by the end of Q2 2014. AT&T also stated that for Q2 2014, it expects postpaid subscriber net adds to exceed 800,000, a postpaid churn of 0.95% or lower, along with approximately 3.2 million AT&T Next smartphone sales. AT&T also raised its full-year 2014 guidance for revenue growth which is expected to be in the 5% range, and reaffirmed its guidance for capital expenditures in the $21 billion range and free cash flow in the $11 billion range. Sprint Nextel Corp. Analyst Notes
On June 3, 2014, Sprint Nextel Corp. (Sprint) announced that it is giving customers who originally opted out of its device protection program at the time of purchase another chance to enroll for it. According to Sprint, it offers a device protection plan perfect for a range of devices from service and repair to device replacement, data protection and technical support. Sprint stated that customers can receive comprehensive coverage that includes protection from loss, theft, accidental damage, device malfunction, and threats to private data for $7 a month (prepaid) or $8-$13 per month (postpaid). Sprint mentioned that to be eligible for device protection open enrollment, the customer's device must be functioning and in the customer's possession. The Company informed that options currently available to Sprint customers for device protection include: Total Equipment Protection and Assurant Advanced Protection Pack. Orange Analyst Notes
On June 6, 2014, Orange reported that its accelerator program Orange Fab has announced 6 Silicon Valley startups as part of its third season. The Company stated that Orange Fab is now running two programs each year, one in summer and another in the fall. Orange informed that the six startups in Orange Fab's third batch include: Emberlight, which focuses on "smart" lighting technology; Maginatics, a cloud storage platform; MedWhat, a personal medical assistant app; Rallyteam, productive collaboration platform; Tripping, a vacation rental search engine company; and Volo Broadband, a comprehensive cloud-based ISP automation platform for emerging markets. TW Telecom Inc. Analyst Notes
On June 3, 2014, TW Telecom Inc. (TW Telecom) announced that leading national retailer Stein Mart, Inc., has selected the Company to provide Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) service nationwide. According to the Company, the technology will allow Stein Mart to directly connect and securely pass data to its more than 270 stores and data centers nationwide. Telefonica, S.A. Analyst Notes
On June 3, 2014, Telefonica, S.A. (Telefonica) announced that Telefónica's Alcalá Data Center has just celebrated its first anniversary, has become Europe's largest data center and the world's third biggest, and has obtained TIER IV Gold certification. According to the Company, the certification confirms that the most exacting requirements have been met with regard to Uptime Institute standards, ensuring the center's operational sustainability and attesting to its high level of infrastructure availability. Telefonica added that Alcalá Innovation Center, which specializes in cloud services, has been added to Telefónica's Alcalá Data Center.
