OpenText Metastorm first EA, BPM offering to provide enterprise modeling and process collaboration on Windows Azure Cloud environment
BALTIMORE, MD, March 30 /PRNewswire/ - OpenText's (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC) Metastorm business, a leading provider of business process management (BPM), business process analysis (BPA), and enterprise architecture (EA) software for business transformation, today announced that Metastorm M3™ - its cloud-based modeling suite - is Powered by Microsoft Windows AzureTM.
The Powered by Microsoft Windows Azure program recognizes that the Metastorm M3 cloud application has met a specific set of functionality and performance requirements set forth by Microsoft. Powered by Windows Azure, Metastorm M3 offers the most popular modeling types from Metastorm's enterprise architecture and business process management software and delivers them in a secure, easy to use Cloud-based environment - enabling real-time collaboration, annotation and recording capabilities.
The Windows Azure is the latest in Metastorm's credentials. Metastorm, which has also achieved a Gold Certified Software Competency in the Microsoft Partner Network, leverages Microsoft Silverlight for its user interface, and offers integration with the Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Workflow Foundation and Microsoft Visual Studio. In addition, the company has been a strategic partner in the Microsoft Business Process Alliance since 2007.
"Metastorm is a long-standing partner that has proven its commitment to customers by helping them extend their enterprise BPM efforts in conjunction with Microsoft technologies," said Jenni Flinders, vice president, U.S. Partner Group at Microsoft. "We are pleased that Metastorm's latest application, Metastorm M3, meets criteria required to be a Powered by Windows Azure solution."
"As a strategic Microsoft partner, it was logical that we would be the first of the EA and BPM vendors to select Microsoft Windows Azure for its Cloud platform," said Greg Carter executive vice president and CTO of OpenText Metastorm. "Being recognized as a Windows Azure solution further extends our partnership with Microsoft and provides validation to our customers that we are committed to providing a dependable, flexible and proven software platform as they move enterprise modeling into the Cloud and start engaging in social BPM collaboration."
