European Smart Metering Industry Group (ESMIG) leads the way in collaboration between leading manufacturers, IT companies and systems integrators in Europe

WATERLOO, ON, April 5 /PRNewswire/ - OpenText™ (NASDAQ: OTEX) (TSX: OTC) today announced that it has joined the European Smart Metering Industry Group (ESMIG). With this membership, OpenText will collaborate with other global companies in sharing thought leadership and expertise in an effort to set industry standards for the European smart metering industry.

ESMIG members are comprised of leading European meter manufacturers, IT companies and systems integrators. Member companies cover all aspects of smart metering, including electricity, gas, water, and heat measurement. These members represent the entire value chain from meter manufacturing, software, installation and consulting to communications, data management and systems integration. By giving support to the European Union and its member states, as well as through cooperation and partnerships with relevant stakeholders, the group aims to assist in the development, introduction, integration and management of smart metering solutions across Europe.
