OpenPeak Partners with Deutsche Telekom to Launch SAMBA! Enterprise Mobility Platform
SAMBA! Will Provide Mobile Management Tools and Access to SECTOR Secured 3rd Party Apps
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- 2014 INTERNATIONAL CES -- OpenPeak today announced the launch of SAMBA! for Deutsche Telekom. SAMBA! (Safe Mobile Business Apps) is a new enterprise mobility platform powered by OpenPeak, a leading provider of enterprise-class mobile device and application management solutions. The SAMBA! branded solution for enterprise mobile security will be available as a managed SaaS offering for Deutsche Telekom clients.
SAMBA! gives enterprises the flexibility to manage company-issued devices, ensure data security in 'bring your own device' environments and offer an enterprise application store. The solution also features a secure browser and personal information manager (PIM) for securing corporate email, contacts, calendars, tasks and notes on iOS and Android devices.
The cloud-based system, SAMBA! is capable of remotely pushing and removing apps, setting policies for passwords, configuring VPNs, defining policies and locking and wiping company devices remotely. In BYOD environments, SAMBA! can create a strict separation between work and personal data by encrypting and managing apps that handle sensitive data. This gives enterprises the ability to secure both proprietary and third-party apps on an individual basis.
"We're proud to provide carriers like Deutsche Telekom with a white-label enterprise mobility solution that they can brand, customize and sell directly to their customers," said Dan Gittleman, CEO of OpenPeak. "As a cloud-based solution, SAMBA! will evolve with our own efforts to improve the OpenPeak suite. We're committed to providing Deutsche Telekom and its customers with a solution that can meet the mobility challenges of the present and future."
"In addition to in-house development it is part of Deutsche Telekom's strategy to establish partnerships to produce new and innovative services," said Chief Product & Innovation Officer of Deutsche Telekom AG, Dr. Thomas Kiessling. "Together with OpenPeak we now expand our existing portfolio for Enterprise Mobility Services. SAMBA! helps our customers to easily provision and manage mobile devices and applications. OpenPeak's unique app wrapping technology in combination with their secure container approach make SAMBA! a perfect solution for Bring-Your-Own-Device use cases. The fact that all components could be installed in our data center furthermore fulfills the high requirements of European companies toward data privacy."
SAMBA! is powered by OpenPeak's ADAM™ Advanced Device and Application Manager, which provides an end-to-end mobile enterprise security solution that addresses device-level, data-level, and network security. OpenPeak offers ADAM as a white-label solution to carriers and OEMs.
It was also announced today that Deutsche Telekom would become a partner in the SECTOR Network. The SECTOR Network is an application ecosystem consisting of popular business apps that have been additionally "wrapped" to add security features and IT management capabilities. Apps secured for SECTOR can be downloaded from popular public application stores. The SECTOR Network allows partners such as Deutsche Telekom to benefit by providing a selection of pre-secured applications to their enterprise customers who are SAMBA! subscribers.
