Open Source Storage Names Paul Kelley Executive VP of Business Development
Original OSS team member and 30 year tech veteran to spearhead sales and expansion into the enterprise market as company re-launches
SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Open Source Storage (OSS), the visionaries and creators of enterprise data storage solutions, have named Paul Kelley Executive Vice President of Business Development and a member of the board of directors. A leader on the original OSS team with over 30 years of management and sales experience, Mr. Kelley will build the company sales organization and bring OSS's new data storage solutions to the enterprise market.
Over the past 10 years, Kelley has worked closely with Eren Niazi, the founder and CEO of Open Source Storage. Since 2008, Kelley has served as Senior VP of Sales at WSpider, Niazi's online marketing firm that provides automated internet marketing and paid advertising solutions for companies ranging from startups to global enterprises. Kelley has also led business development at Gear Head Factory, a custom race car fabrication shop launched by Niazi in 2012.
As Open Source Storage's Director of Sales from 2004 to 2007, Kelley helped the startup reach over $27 million in revenue. He was instrumental in bringing a diverse group of Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and startups to OSS solutions.
"Paul was a highly valued member of the first Open Source Storage team, he is dedicated to the open source movement and he has been a true mentor over the past 10 years," said Niazi. "We're very fortunate to have his leadership in our sales organization and on our board."
Prior to joining Open Source Storage in 2004, Kelley was Director of OEM Sales at VA Linux systems, which in 1999 achieved one of the most successful IPOs in Wall Street history. Mr. Kelley also held senior sales roles at Vanstar and Businessland.
A veteran of the United States Army, Kelley donates his time and energy to serving disabled veterans and helping them return to a productive life. Mr. Kelley attended the University of San Francisco and received a BA in Liberal Studies from San Jose State University.
"Given the rise of big data collection and applications, I believe the enterprise world desperately needs open source solutions that can outperform proprietary solutions and cut costs by 30 to 40 percent," said Kelley. "I am a strong believer in Eren's vision, and I look forward to helping him grow Open Source Storage."
