Open Data Center Alliance Announces Global Events Partnership with Cloud World Series
ODCA members to showcase enterprise cloud adoption best practices and detail usage model requirements at CWS events worldwide
PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Open Data Center Alliance (ODCA), the global organization where members work together to advance the deployment of enterprise cloud solutions and services that are interoperable, secure and free of vendor lock-in, today announced that it has become a Technology Sponsor of Cloud World Series (CWS) events. As a CWS partner, ODCA will hold leadership events and experts from its membership will deliver keynotes, participate in panels, and lead technology sessions focused on best practices for open enterprise cloud computing at CWS events around the globe. The partnership provides CWS event attendees with a unique opportunity to meet and learn from ODCA members who are leaders in driving the open enterprise cloud.

Partnership Kicks-off in April in Munich at the Telco Cloud World Forum
ODCA and CWS will begin the European component of the 2014 events partnership at the Telco Cloud World Forum taking place in Munich on April 28 – 30. ODCA will hold a full day technology workshop on April 28 hosted by Mario Mueller, ODCA chair and vice president of IT Infrastructure, BMW; Catherine Spence, chair of the ODCA Technical Coordination Committee and senior enterprise architect, Intel; Martin Heisig, ODCA board member and senior vice president Infrastructure Services, SAP; and Reyk Bederke, ODCA board member and portfolio and solution design, T-Systems International GmbH. CWS participants attending the session will understand how these ODCA members are deploying cloud today, how ODCA has helped shape corporate strategies for cloud deployments, and how enterprises and telecom providers are using ODCA usage models as the foundation for deploying a variety of virtualized enterprise cloud services. All Telco World Forum attendees are welcome to attend this interactive educational session to learn more about how their own organization can potentially benefit from engagement with the Alliance. ODCA members will showcase enterprise cloud usage models and demonstrate how enterprises are adopting these requirements as the blueprint for developing cloud strategies and implementations with full day workshops at the CWS Cloud World Forum in London on June 17 and 18 and the Cloud World Asia Forum in Hong Kong on November 25 – 27, 2014. In addition to the planned workshops, ODCA will be delivering executive presentations at other CWS events across the globe.
ODCA Cloud Usage Models: A Foundation for Building and Deploying the Next Generation of Open Enterprise Cloud Services
ODCA was launched in 2010 and since then the organization has released over 25 usage models and requirements documents focused on enterprise cloud computing, big data, and data analytics and including Commercial Framework, Compute Infrastructure as a Service (CIaaS), Cloud Based Identity Governance, Data Security, Information as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Service Orchestration, Scale-out Storage and Software Defined Networking (SDN).
