The new Reno sort facility is the largest in the ever-expanding OnTrac network. The facility was added to expand the service capabilities of the network and boost parcel throughput rate in one of its busiest facilities.
The new facility features 165,000 square feet, and a new automated material handling system valued at $3,000,000.
"This new facility will set the standard for future expansion," said Mark Cronkrite, vice president of operations for OnTrac. "With all of the new facilities opening up, we're seeing a tremendous boost in network efficiency and speed."
OnTrac celebrated the Grand Opening of the new Reno facility by inviting the Mayor of Sparks, Geno Martini to speak about business and the local economy in Nevada.
This sort facility is just one of many expansions the company has seen in just the past month. The addition of service to and from the state of Colorado, along three new sort facilities in Menlo Park, Petaluma, and now Reno, are representative of the positive growth OnTrac is seeing in its business.
