"Reward Volunteers 4.0 has been a resounding success for the volunteer community," says Jen Neary, Cabot Director of Marketing & Integrated Services. "As of today, 570 volunteers have logged more than 24,000 hours, to the benefit of 647 organizations across the country. Since the program's inception in February 2012, more than 125,000 volunteer hours have been registered."
The revolutionary Reward Volunteers 4.0 iPhone App and web widget from Cabot Creamery Cooperative enables individuals and organizations to track the time they spend volunteering in their communities. At the end of each month, Cabot rewards them for their hard work, and for inspiring friends and family to do the same, with a variety of prizes. The more hours volunteers log, the more chances they have to win, both for themselves and the organizations they serve. Now in its fourth phase, the app has been updated with a number of new features and enhancements, and will honor its participating volunteers with more prizes than ever before.
Reward Volunteers 4.0 now includes All for Good integration, in collaboration with Points of Light, which manages postings of current and future volunteer opportunities, while at the same time allowing volunteers to search for these opportunities by location. Other new features include updated Facebook integration, allowing participants to invite friends to the app via Facebook; 4-inch retina display support that utilizes the larger screens of the iPhone 5; and a tutorial that walks new users through their first post.
In addition to the $5,000 Grand Prize for one amazing non-profit organization, one individual will be awarded $1,500 in cash for their volunteer efforts, while another hard-working volunteer will receive a 4-Season Weekend Getaway for Two at four different New England resorts: Trapp Family Lodge; Mountain Club at Loon; Higgins Beach Inn; and Nonantum Resort.
One of December's winners is Nancy Launi of North Myrtle Beach, SC. "I have been a volunteer at Brookgreen Gardens, one of the most beautiful places in America, for eight years," says Launi. "I have been using Reward Volunteers for one-and-a-half years. So far, I have been rewarded with almost 18 pounds of delicious Cabot cheese! My goal is to get a lot of my fellow volunteers logging hours through Reward Volunteers to earn something for Brookgreen Gardens. Thank you so much to everyone at Cabot Creamery Cooperative!"
Another of this month's winners is Stacy Howard, who will receive a Keurig Machine and a supply of Green Mountain Coffee. "I love using the Reward Volunteers app on my iPhone to log the hours I spend volunteering at Ferris High School," says Howard. "It is rewarding to see the hours add up and know that I am making a positive difference at the school. Posting my hours on Facebook through the Reward Volunteers App encourages others to join me."
