Online Product And Service Research Ranks High Among Older Adults
GlynnDevins Survey Reveals Seniors' Top Choices in Consumer Decision Making
OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- When it comes to wanting more information about products and services, adults over the age of 70 turn to company websites and online reviews as their top resources in decision making. GlynnDevins surveyed more than 400 older adults seeking opinions on areas of marketing communications.
Topping the list of finding consumer information for both men and women was visiting a company website, followed by online ratings and reviews, and then asking family or friends for their thoughts.
"The results of this survey really validates that today's seniors are embracing technology and using websites and reviews in their information gathering," said Sue McClure, GlynnDevins executive vice president and general manager. "The implications point to even stronger evidence that an integrated marketing communications program through use of all channels is extremely important."
More results from the survey can be found on GlynnDevins' blog Insights at http://bit.ly/1kVaazv. For a brief on Advertising Targeting Older Adults go to http://bit.ly/1q8gYWW.
