Online Football Video Newcomer StreamUK Shortlisted For Three 2012 Football Business Awards
LONDON, September 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
The online media and streaming specialist StreamUK has been nominated as a finalist in three separate categories for the 2012 Football Business Awards.
Approximately a year ago, StreamUK was chosen by Liverpool FC to revamp its online video offering lfc.tv, based on the StreamUK online video platform StreamMP. Liverpool FC recently claimed its online video offering is the most successful online video subscription service of any football club in the world, adding further credibility to the media platform as well as StreamUK and Liverpool FC's working relationship.
Liverpool FC became the case study for StreamUK's shortlisting in Best use of Social Media in Football, Best / Most Innovative use of Technology by Clubs and Best Business Serving Football - over £2m turnover. StreamUK was mistakenly shortlisted in the 'up to 2m' category after a successful nomination from an external voter. However, StreamUK alerted the awards organiser's of the company's turnover and the listing was transferred to the 'over 2m' category.
The winners of the inaugural Football Business Awards will be announced on the 8th November at the home of Chelsea FC, Stamford Bridge. Over half of the premiership clubs are involved with the 2012 awards, as well as a strong interest from abroad, with entries from as far afield as Belgium, Italy, Denmark, Russia, Brazil and USA.
The Football Business Awards have been designed to celebrate excellence and acknowledge success in the business of football. The Awards will recognise the essential role that business plays in football, the positive impact of football on the community and vital role played by the businesses which serve the game.
