Online Auction Set for Assets of HRD-Marcus Oil
Tiger Group, New Mill Capital and Federal Equipment selling polyethylene wax plant with production, lab and packaging equipment, rolling stock, furniture, other assets in April 5 online auction
HOUSTON, March 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Tiger Group, New Mill Capital and Federal Equipment will conduct an online auction on April 5 of the assets formerly owned by HRD-Marcus Oil.
The offering for the polyethylene wax plant's expansive, well-maintained assets includes production, process, lab and packaging equipment; cooling towers; an extensive truck fleet; plant support equipment; and office furniture and equipment. The 129,000-square-foot plant is situated on a 9.0-acre site. Interested parties may also submit turnkey offers for the assets to: [email protected].
HRD-Marcus Oil was formed in 1987 for the purpose of producing linear, low-molecular-weight polyethylene waxes with high melting points. The products were used in asphalt/bitumen modification, cable filling/flooding compounds, coatings, color concentrate, corrugated board coating and other applications. The tanker fleet was used to truck the molten feedstock from petrochemical plants to the company's Houston production facility.
The sale will get under way at 10:30 a.m. (CT) on Thursday, April 5, with bidders required to register in advance at www.soldtiger.com. The assets may be previewed at the Marcus Oil site: 14549 Minetta St., Houston.

Available process equipment is highlighted by a 6-MM BTU Uniflux hot oil system; four stainless steel Pfaudler WFE wiped film evaporators; four stainless steel Berndorf AccuDrop Belt Flakers with AccuDrop pastillators; two jacketed, stainless steel sparkler filters; and five, like-new, 257-ton FXT BAC cooling towers.
Rolling stock up for auction includes nine 7,700-gallon capacity tandem axle Brenner SS transport series tankers; tractor trucks from International, Volvo and Peterbilt, some as new as 2015, and some with a 48- inch sleeper compartment; and a Caterpillar Series 54-HP skid steer loader with bucket. Plant support equipment includes riding forklifts with triple stage masts from Yale and Mitsubishi, and more.
The array of packaging equipment being offered includes a Taylor-Fischbein open mouth bagging and sealing line with conveyor; electronic gross bagging scales with hopper from Taylor and Stone Container, including one with an Eriez vibrator; a SmurFit stone pot belly bag packaging machine with hopper; and more.
Lab equipment on the auction block includes Mellen split and tube furnaces; a Carver hydraulic press; four IKA magic LAB DISPAX-REACTOR multi-stage dispersing/emulsifying mixer units; and four workspace laminar flow clean benches.
Other available assets include office furniture, tools, welders, support equipment and generators.
