JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 21, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The 10th annual Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) Courage Awards & Benefit Dinner® presented by First Data Corporation and the Joe Plumeri Foundation, with the generous support of USAA, opens up the online auction for the public to start bidding.
Visit the online auction to register and start bidding today at http://www.501auctions.com/wwpcourageawardsauction.
The auction will close on May 28, 2015 at 9:30 p.m. EST.
Proceeds from the auction will help fuel the more than 20 free WWP programs, which are uniquely designed to help injured service members feel empowered to live life independently. The programs focus on economic empowerment, physical health and wellness, mental health, and peer mentoring which allows engagement with other injured service members, so they know they are not battling their issues alone.
"Opening the online action to the public allows everyone the ability to participate in this event and give back to our nation's veterans," stated Steve Nardizzi, chief executive officer, WWP. "We would not be able to honor and empower Wounded Warriors without the generosity of our supporters."
Some of the auction items available are as follows:
Counting Cars – "The Patriot" and "The American Bomber" - Danny "The Count" Koker and the Count's Kustoms team generously donated two hand-painted pieces of a 1941 Willys two-door coupe to WWP.
