Content Marketing Institute Reveals Sneak Peek of New Research at Content Marketing World 2014
CLEVELAND, Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- There appears to be one thing that separates the good from the great when it comes to content marketing: Documenting a strategy. That's just one of the major key findings in the Content Marketing Institute/MarketingProfs new highly-anticipated research on content marketing.

Tuesday morning at Content Marketing World, Joe Pulizzi, founder of CMI, offered a sneak peek of the B2B and B2C 2015 Content Marketing Benchmarks, Budgets, and Trends reports for North America based on the results of the fifth annual content marketing survey. This year, more than 5,000 marketers from 109 different countries, across 25 different industries responded to the comprehensive survey.
"What we've knew from past research is that marketers know they need a strategy for their content marketing," said Pulizzi. "What we discovered this year, is that if they actually take the time to write it down, and review it often, they will be wildly more successful," Pulizzi added.
In fact, according to the research, those who actually documented their strategy had more success at tracking their return on investment. They were actually eight times better at it than their peers who are less effective at content marketing. The most effective content marketing tactics, according to B2B marketers, are in-person events, webinars and videos. For B2C marketers, email newsletters, in-person events and illustrations/photos are the most effective tactics.
