One Super Dad to Win Super Bowl Tickets
National Center for Fathering Sponsoring 'Super Dad' Contest
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Jan. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- This year, one "Super Dad" will receive more than a coffee mug for his accomplishments – he will win two Super Bowl tickets.
Calling attention to a serious deficit of responsible fathers, the National Center for Fathering (Fathers.com) is giving dads an opportunity to win tickets to the Super Bowl by showcasing characteristics of a good father. To win the "Super Dad" contest, fathers must demonstrate the three attributes of championship fathering identified by the center's research: loving, coaching, and modeling.
The winner, along with his son or daughter, will be awarded a ticket—valued at $2,000 each—to Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis on February 5.
The Super Bowl contest is part of the nonprofit's mission to reverse the nation's trend toward fatherlessness. "We want to see a culture of championship fathering where every child has an involved father or father figure," said National Center for Fathering CEO Carey Casey. "Instead, we have 19 million children who are living in homes without a father or father figure. There is a serious lack of heroic fathers and role models in our country. A father's absence contributes to an increase in teenage pregnancy rates, physical and mental health problems, alcohol and drug abuse, suicide and poverty among children. Giving away Super Bowl tickets is an opportunity for us to raise awareness about our mission and recognize championship fathers."
To enter the contest and win tickets to the Super Bowl, a father must create and post a 60-second video to YouTube explaining why his child is the ultimate football fanatic, how he is a championship father and why he deserves to take his child to Super Bowl XLVI.
Contestants must post their entries by January 15, at which point the public will vote for their top three favorite videos. On January 21, a panel of judges will select the winner of the Super Bowl tickets. For more information, visit http://www.facebook.com/NCF4dads.
