One of the Nation's Biggest Classic Car Shows, Concours d'Elegance of Texas, Returns to La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa, April 24-26

MONTGOMERY, Texas, March 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa on Lake Conroe once again will be the scene for a showcase of more than 150 of the world's most coveted automobiles, some valued in excess of $5 million for display and auction, as Concours d'Elegance of Texas returns to the lakeside Texas resort, April 24 – 26, 2015.

The highlight of the weekend is the Concours d'Elegance of Texas auction on Saturday, April 25 starting at 11 a.m. when intense, rapid-fire bidding is expected to total over $10 million in sales.

Must-see items in this year's auction include a 1957 Dual Ghia Convertible, one of the most sought-after vehicles of its time and one of only 101 ever built.  Previous owners of these beauties included Frank Sinatra, Debbie Reynolds and Joey Bishop.

Others include a 1955 Moretti 1200 S Spyder, designed by Michelotti and previously presented at the 1955 Paris and Torino Auto Shows, a 1969 Porsche 911S, a museum-quality, 1900 Locomobile Model 2 Runabout, a 1967 Shelby GT350 "Supercharged" Fastback, and a number of other world class sports cars, pre-war classics and performance cars.

For many, just watching the bidding is half the fun.  Admission to the auction is $65 per couple.

On Sunday, April 26, car enthusiasts can get an up-close look at more than 150 vintage motorcars lined up along the 18th hole of the resort's golf course.  Admission for adults is $25. Children under 12 are free with an adult. All proceeds benefit the Concours charities.  

Tickets for the Saturday auction and the Sunday presentation of vintage motorcars can be purchased in advance at www.concoursoftexas.org.  Tickets also can be purchased to the Cowboys & Cars Charity Dinner and Silent & Live Auction on Saturday, April 25.
