One of Nation's 'Hottest' Restaurant Concepts Opens Jan. 24 in Oklahoma City
Restaurant veteran Sam Barnett expects Oklahoma to quickly embrace Twin Peaks' food, drinks and girls
DALLAS, Jan. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Restaurant veteran Sam Barnett knows a hot concept when he sees one, and when business partner Nick Bomar introduced him to Twin Peaks in Dallas, it only took one visit for them to realize that they had found an idea that he was certain would be a hit with sports fans in Oklahoma City.
Next week Barnett and Bomar will bring the rapidly expanding franchise chain to Oklahoma City, at 3109 W. Memorial. The restaurant, named a 2010 "Hot Concept" by Nation's Restaurant News, will be open for dinner only from January 24-28 and will add lunch beginning January 29.
It is the first of five Twin Peaks restaurants that Barnett and Bomar plan to open in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri.
"Oklahoma City has an untapped market looking for a place they can go to enjoy really great food, 29 degree draft beer and sports in a great atmosphere," said Barnett.
Founded in 2005 in the Dallas suburb of Lewisville, Twin Peaks is known for its quality food and ice cold draft beer served by friendly and attractive Twin Peaks Girls in a mountain sports lodge setting. The chain has 12 restaurants throughout the Southwest and expects to almost double in size in 2011.
Barnett discovered Twin Peaks while visiting with Bomar in Dallas who had been raving about the concept and instantly fell in love with it.
"We're outdoors guys, we really like to hunt and the concept fit our personality," said Bomar. "It really gets people on a lot of levels -- good food, cold beer, a comfortable feel."
Shortly after the visit in Dallas, Barnett left his position as director of operations for casual dining restaurant Granite City and began working with Bomar on Twin Peaks. Having opened an Abuelos Mexican Food restaurant in Oklahoma City, he was familiar with the city and knew it would be an ideal market for Twin Peaks.
"People love great food, cold beer, sports and the Twin Peaks girls," said Barnett. "There is no doubt in our mind that this restaurant will be wildly popular in Oklahoma City."
