One Cincinnati Hero to Receive a Free Siding Makeover

CHICAGO, Feb. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- James Hardie Building Products Inc. (JHX: US), the leading manufacturer of fiber cement siding, is celebrating Cincinnati resident's strong community devotion by collecting stories of local heroism and giving back to the area's top hero. The hero who is nominated in the most moving submission will receive all new siding courtesy of James Hardie. The contest is organized by James Hardie and sponsored by Accurate Carpentry and Holmes Custom Renovation, Cincinnati's premier James Hardie installers, plus Hart Productions, who is providing free publicity.

After his wife Gina raised thousands of dollars for breast cancer awareness, local James Hardie Sales Representative Jim Gehm was inspired to create this nomination program. "During our judging we will be looking for the combination of the greatest deed(s) and that person's exterior home needs." Not only are the entries and contest testaments to Cincinnati resident's community commitment, the program partnership between the top two elite area remodelers illustrates community connectivity. According to Gehm, Holmes Custom Renovation and Accurate Carpentry's relationship with each other is far reaching and that they regularly give each other business advice and loan out labor to each other.

Remodeling magazine named Cincinnati as the #1 residential remodeling market in the country in 2011, and the magazine's "Cost vs. Value" report ranked fiber cement siding as the #1 return-on-investment home renovation project. The "Siding for My Hero" sweepstakes makes it possible for one lucky recipient, who otherwise wouldn't have the resources to do so, to re-side their home.
