OnCourse Learning Sponsors 7th Annual Friends of Nathan Foundation Gala on April 9

BROOKFIELD, Wis., March 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On April 9, OnCourse Learning will serve as a Platinum Level sponsor for The Friends of Nathan Foundation's 7^th annual fundraising gala at Concorde Banquet Hall, 20922 N. Rand Road, Kildeer, Ill.

Since its inception in 2007, the foundation has raised more than $800,000 to provide financial assistance to children with cerebral palsy and other debilitating diseases.

One of OnCourse Learning's seven office locations is in Hoffman Estates, Ill., which is home to The Friends of Nathan. The foundation assisted 37 families in the area last year.

"The gala is our main fundraiser," said Tom Mueller, president and founding director of the foundation. "We use the funds to expand the number of families we can help."

Funds raised at the 2015 gala helped the foundation assist seven additional families. Since 2007, the foundation has directed 94% of the money raised to assist families in need.

"One of our goals for 2016 is to be able to send 10 children to a special needs summer camp, which will cost $15,000," Mueller said. Another 2016 goal is to assist six additional families.

The foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, helps provide funds and volunteer support for respite care, specialized therapies, special needs furniture, service dogs, home modifications and noncovered medical services. In 2015, The Friends of Nathan provided nearly $10,000 for medical treatments, along with 1,000 hours of respite care and 419 therapy sessions.
