CLEVELAND, Oct. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- University of Nevada, Reno will deploy OnBase by Hyland – a leading content services platform – hosted in the Hyland Cloud to promote access, consistency and efficiency across 30 departments, including Planning, Budget and Analysis, Office of Business and Finance, Human Resources and the Division of Student Services. The University will migrate content from Nolij and utilize OnBase in conjunction with existing core business systems, PeopleSoft and Workday, which will be integrated once OnBase is fully implemented on campus.
The University will leverage OnBase to digitize records, achieving a paperless work environment while elevating campus-wide operational efficiencies. Following the initial data migration, the University will deploy OnBase capture and workflow functionality, and utilize records management capabilities to administer regulatory, compliance and retention policies for the University's electronic documents. The current electronic content management system at the University is expected to come to end of life in June 2018.
"A centralized digital content management system is essential to maintain effective collaboration," Steve Smith, vice-provost for the Office of Information Technology at the University, said. "We look forward to implementing OnBase. We are confident it will help us achieve seamless workflows and efficient data management."
To support its comprehensive digital strategy, the University will deploy OnBase in the Hyland Cloud, which was recently named a market leader by global research firm Ovum. The Hyland Cloud – a secure, privately managed, multi-instance cloud hosting architecture – is a mature and proven solution with nearly 15 years of deployment experience and well over four billion documents stored.
"The University will enable faculty and staff to increase efficiency and collaboration by deploying OnBase as a configurable enterprise content services solution, which will accelerate decision-making and free up more time for student service," Dave Vegh, director, higher education practice at Hyland, said. "The University of Nevada, Reno is part of the Nevada System of Higher Education and includes five other institutions that are current Hyland higher ed customers. We are excited to have the University of Nevada, Reno join the Hyland community, and provide the best possible technology and service to their faculty, staff and students."
