CLEVELAND, Feb. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Central Methodist University (CMU) is deploying OnBase by Hyland, a single enterprise information platform, to replace its existing Perceptive Nolij Web solution, which is being sunsetted. Fayette, Missouri-based CMU, a private university that enrolls more than 5,000 students, has a traditional campus, several regional locations and a growing online studies portfolio for continuing and graduate education programs — all with distinct student needs.
Hyland is working with CMU to initially replace the store and retrieve functionality of Nolij Web and will also focus on the Office of Admission as part of its immediate roadmap, with a target date of the fourth quarter to support the next recruitment cycle. Following a successful implementation in Admissions, CMU will focus efforts on deploying OnBase optimized workflows and electronic form capabilities to increase administrative efficiencies across all campuses.
"In higher ed, we have to think about the students who we will serve in the future as well as those we serve now," said Chad Gaines, chief information officer at CMU. "With Hyland, we will have the ability to partner and grow our OnBase system to ensure we are supporting our next generation of CMU students with an enterprise information platform I don't ever see us outgrowing."
OnBase tightly integrates with existing student information systems including Jenzabar CX, CMU's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. CMU users will have fingertip access to comprehensive student and administrative content stored in OnBase, connecting Admissions to other campus departments such as financial aid, student advising, accounting and senior administration. In the future, CMU aims to leverage the scalability of OnBase to help create a digital student record for all campuses, including prepopulating forms with information already residing in its ERP.
"We are thrilled to partner with CMU to help convert their 500,000 documents to OnBase from the previously implemented Nolij Web as well as serve as a resource to help guide deploying future solutions," said Dave Vegh, director, higher education practice at Hyland. "We especially enjoy working with visionary CIOs like Chad who can see a clear path that involves fully extending Hyland's technology to achieve their institutional strategic goals."
