SOLNA, Sweden, Jan. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- International Business Systems (IBS), a global leading integrated ERP and supply chain provider, today announced that On the Dot, the largest multichannel media logistics company in South Africa, has selected its Dynaman warehouse management system (WMS) to help drive even greater efficiencies in the warehouse. The integration of Dynaman into On the Dot's mature systems and processes will also allow the company to expand and enhance its contract logistics service offerings for clothing and apparel, eBusiness and other industries, helping customers manage their supply chains more effectively in a 24x7 world.

On the Dot, which has used IBS' Bookmaster solution for more than 10 years, compared several WMS solutions before selecting Dynaman. Its flexibility was the primary driver of the decision, along with the confidence On the Dot has in IBS as a result of the two companies' long working relationship.
"We wanted to take the expertise in distribution we've amassed over the years and apply it to new markets," said Solly Schoultz, IT manager at On the Dot. "To do that, we needed to install a full WMS that can help manage shipping, receiving, personnel and the movement of goods through the warehouse. We took our time investigating solutions, and even took an extended trip to Belgium to see an operation that is similar to what we want to do. In the end, it became obvious that Dynaman offered the powerful features and flexibility to help us tailor our offerings to our target customers."
The ability to service eBusiness customers is particularly important to On the Dot. eBusiness is a rapidly growing market in South Africa, but it requires a broader range of capabilities than On the Dot has offered its media publishing customers. On the Dot's first Dynaman installation will be for a technology company, so serialization, batch control and the ability to deliver extensive storage processes are very important. The expected go-live date is late February 2014.
"We are not only excited to work with On the Dot to help it expand its business, but also that this will be the first installation of Dynaman in all of South Africa," said Doug Braun, CEO of IBS. "Our expectation is that Dynaman will help On the Dot open up these new lines of business quickly, and become a model for other organizations on the continent to follow."
IBS Dynaman is a key part of the supply chain that controls the movement and storage of materials within a warehouse, and processes the associated transactions, including shipping, receiving, put-away and picking. IBS Dynaman also directs and optimizes stock put-away based on real-time information about the status of bin utilization. It includes best of breed WMS and MES functionalities based on the latest Microsoft technology. Scalable, functional, easy-to-use and simple to implement, IBS Dynaman represents the lowest total cost of ownership and fastest ROI in the industry – guaranteed.
