SAN DIEGO, July 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Omnitracs, LLC, a leading provider of fleet management solutions to transportation and logistics companies, today announced plans to relocate its corporate headquarters from San Diego, Calif. to Dallas, Texas. The transition is scheduled to take place in early 2015 and will be supported by a grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF).
"Establishing Dallas as our new headquarters will further solidify our industry leadership position, allowing us to centralize operations and better serve our growing multi-national customer base," said John Graham, CEO of Omnitracs. "As a major transportation hub with a technology-savvy workforce, we believe Dallas offers great advantages that align with our long-term business vision. Our new headquarters location places us closer to many of our fleet customers to ensure we can quickly and efficiently meet their evolving mobile technology needs."
Founded more than 25 years ago, Omnitracs pioneered the use of commercial vehicle telematics with its legacy OmniTRACS mobile information system for the transportation and logistics market. Today, Omnitracs' nearly 700 employees--and its Roadnet, Sylectus and FleetRisk Advisors business units--deliver software-as-a-service-based solutions to more than 3,800 private and for-hire fleet customers and 500,000 vehicles around the globe.
"Employers of all sizes and from all industries know that Texas' model of low taxes, smart regulations, fair courts and skilled workforce provide the best chance for their success now and well into the future," stated Texas Governor Rick Perry. "With a TEF investment of $3.9 million, Omnitracs is the latest employer to call Dallas home, creating hundreds of jobs in the area and pumping millions in capital into the local economy."
Omnitracs' expansion to Dallas will enable the company to capitalize on the region's substantial transportation infrastructure and logistics expertise. The company will retain its locations in San Diego and Baltimore for continued market presence.
"We are thrilled to welcome Omnitracs to the growing list of technology companies choosing to make Dallas their home," said Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings. "Dallas is an ideal location for companies seeking a booming economic climate and a talented workforce, and we think Omnitracs will fit right in."
