Omnicom Media Group Names Adam Ivers to Lead Highway Entertainment
TORONTO, Jan. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Omnicom Media Group has named Highway Entertainment EVP Adam Ivers as the new President and CEO of the Toronto-based agency. Highway Entertainment works with content distributors and producers to create targeted media opportunities which complement the media buying strategies of Omnicom Media Group agencies OMD and PHD across North America. Highway operates in the areas of program distribution, production, funding and developing properties that benefit both OMG advertising clients and content providers.
"Adam's experience in broadcast programming, entrepreneurial approach to deal making and his innate skill for working collaboratively, has resulted in both company growth and new ways of delivering value for our clients in a rapidly evolving industry," said Page Thompson, CEO Omnicom Media Group North America. "He is the perfect choice to lead Highway Entertainment as it continues to create new and innovative media opportunities for OMD and PHD and their vast client base."
"As content in all forms continues to play a larger role in the strategic plans of advertisers, Highway is driving the creation of new models of opportunity for clients, agencies and media," said Adam Ivers. "By dovetailing the interests of all stakeholders – Omnicom's client base, the media vendors and the content partners – Highway is able to ensure win-win executions."
Ivers joined Highway Entertainment in 2007 as Executive Vice President where he was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of Highway's business including the company's expansion into development, production and branded content creation. Prior to joining Highway, Ivers was Vice President Programming for the former CanWest Global Broadcasting (now Shaw Media) where he was responsible for all foreign content acquisitions and programming for the company's network schedules across Canada. Ivers was responsible for the acquisition of some of the company's key programming successes including House, 24, Prison Break, The Apprentice and the NFL's Super Bowl. His extensive relationships in Hollywood coupled with his skill in negotiating acquisitions led to many enduring hits for CanWest.
