Omnicom Group's Diversified Agency Services Names Min Chang Asia Pacific President
NEW YORK, Dec. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Omnicom Group's (NYSE:OMC) Diversified Agency Services (DAS) today announced Min Chang has been promoted to president of the division in Asia Pacific, effective January 1, 2013.
As president of DAS Asia Pacific, Chang will be responsible for leveraging innovation and collaboration across the broad range of its marketing agencies to provide fully integrated solutions to clients in the region. Chang will work closely with the agencies to develop new capabilities, cultivate client relationships and build on existing partnerships, with the overall goal of expanding and enriching the DAS network across Asia's dynamic markets.
In her new role, Chang succeeds Simon Dalby. "After 28 years with Omnicom agencies, of which ten have been with DAS in Asia, I have decided it is time for a change," said Dalby. "Min brings amazing energy and drive to what we envisage will be a more client-facing position in the future. I will work with Min to transition the role through 2013, and will increasingly concentrate on talent development."
"Asia Pacific is a focal point for growth across all of the DAS companies and we are committed to resourcing it with the sharpest talent. Simon has done a tremendous job energizing and uniting our network and we thank him for establishing such a solid foundation in Asia Pacific," said DAS President and CEO Dale Adams. "For the next chapter in our growth story, Min's entrepreneurial drive and strategic acumen give us a strong competitive edge in Asia's high-potential markets. She has an in-depth knowledge of the region and is passionate about aggressively fueling its growth. Min is perfectly suited for this crucial role."
Chang began her career at DAS in 2007 as vice president of operations. In this role she led operational effectiveness and efficiency initiatives across Omnicom's 170 agencies globally as well as worked with Omnicom's global network of agencies to develop strategies and business plans around client relationships. In 2010 she was promoted to senior vice president of operations. Then in May 2011, she was appointed DAS executive vice president of business development & client relations for Asia.
"I'm delighted that Min will be dedicated to supporting Omnicom's growth in Asia Pacific," said Tim Love, chief executive officer of Omnicom Group's Asia Pacific India Middle East Africa (APIMA) region. "Min has demonstrated an extraordinary ability to identify and seize synergies, breed cooperation and help Omnicom and its clients be ever-more collaborative and effective at orchestrating integrated solutions. Her appointment is an important step in our development as we continue to build client value and drive growth."
"Leadership is defined by the ability to propel our business forward," said Serge Dumont, Omnicom Group vice chairman, and chairman Asia Pacific. "We have made excellent progress in executing our ambitious plans for Asia Pacific and I am delighted to welcome Min as she assumes her new role harnessing the collective power of the DAS agencies in the region."
