The OMG Data Distribution Service (DDS) Standard is a strong theme in this year's OMG Workshop, with many presentations that touch on different aspects of this increasingly influential real-time middleware specification. The workshop opens with a full day of in-depth DDS tutorials from industry experts, and workshop sessions cover recent DDS developments and applications. The program also includes presentations on safety-critical distributed systems, component models for embedded systems and the use of software modeling in mission-critical embedded applications.
"OMG's annual Workshop on Real-time, Embedded and Enterprise-Scale Time-Critical Systems continues to be the premier international workshop for those using real-time, standards-based middleware," said Andrew Watson, Vice President and Technical Director, OMG. "Anyone involved in building distributed time-critical systems, whether for transportation, C4I, banking, telecommunications, or any of the other growing list of applications for this important technology should consider attending to stay up-to-date with recent development in the field."
Attendees can look forward to an intense three-day learning experience, both from the formal tutorials and the two-day-long program of presentations from practical engineers working at the forefront of the rapidly moving world of distributed real-time and embedded systems.
