Omega World Travel Names Tony Hughes Commercial Director, EMEA
Tony Hughes Joins Omega World Travel after three years with Qatar Airways as Senior Vice President, The Americas.
FAIRFAX, Va., Aug. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Omega World Travel (Omega), an international travel management company headquartered in Fairfax, Va., announced today that Tony Hughes has been named Commercial Director, EMEA. In his new role, Hughes oversees sales and operations for the EMEA region. In addition, he will focus on further expansion of Omega's global reach. Hughes will be located at Omega's UK headquarters in London.

Hughes has worked in the travel arena for more than 40 years, holding various senior management positions with major industry organizations and TMCs. Before joining Omega, Hughes was Senior Vice President at Qatar Airways for commercial operations in the Americas. Prior to his position with Qatar, Tony served as president and CEO of Radius, the Bethesda, Maryland-based global travel consortium. Before moving to Radius' headquarters in the U.S., Hughes was the managing director of P&O in the UK where his executive responsibilities included P&O Travel India and P&O Travel Hong Kong.
