OMD Continues Winning Streak at Top of RECMA Rankings
Top Global Media Agency Earns Highest Ranking in New Network Diagnostics Report
NEW YORK, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The first edition of the Research Company Evaluating the Media Agency Industry (RECMA) Network Diagnostics Consolidated Evaluation brought more good news for Omnicom Media Group's OMD, the agency that topped RECMA's most recent Global Billing Report as the top US, EMEA and worldwide media brand.
The Network Diagnostics Consolidated Evaluation – described by RECMA as "the new reference point for the industry" – evaluated 14 media agency networks in 20 countries against a set of 10 diagnostic criteria, including agency profile, new business success, growth, management stability, digital and diversified services, client roster profile and local strength. The evaluation leads to a consolidated classification as Dominant, Good or Average, based on agency resources and client roster profile, combined with a rating of Successful, Stable or Declining, based on new business momentum.
In the report issued September 22, OMD emerged as the number-one ranked network across the 20-country evaluation region. On a market-by-market basis within the 20 countries included in the study, OMD earned an evaluation of Dominant in five markets, and a new business grade of Successful in 12 markets.
Significantly, OMD is the only network without a Declining grade, or combined evaluation of Average/Stable, for any of its agencies across the top 10 markets, showing a high degree of consistency across criteria and markets.
"Beyond the top line scoring, the Network Diagnostics evaluations also reveal OMD to be well positioned as the preferred partner for global growth," says OMD Worldwide CEO Mainardo de Nardis. "In addition to our strength in established markets, we have tremendous momentum in regions like China, India and Russia – markets that represent the biggest growth opportunities for our clients."
Concurrent to its showing in the Network Diagnostics Consolidated Evaluation, OMD held onto its top slot in the final version of the 2009 Global Billings Report that was first published in July, and updated September 22 to include capitalized billing as an index to represent agency strength across non-buying-related diversified services. OMD is once again ranked as the largest media agency in the world, with a 10.9 percent share of global media investments. Additionally, OMD is the most balanced global network, with market shares by region going from a minimum of 8.5 percent up to 13.6 percent.
Earlier this year, RECMA rated OMD as the top global network across 26 countries and the top global network in terms of fully integrated digital capabilities.
