Omaha Steaks Facebook App Benefits Four Charities

OMAHA, Neb., March 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Omaha Steaks today announced that the company will donate $25,000 to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for receiving the highest number of votes in the company's recent Ultimate Burger Experience – a Facebook application that invited users to craft a virtual burger and donate the experience to benefit one of four charities. The three other charities involved, including charity: water, Disabled American Veterans, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, will each receive a $5,000 donation from the company.

The Omaha Steaks Ultimate Burger Experience was available on the Omaha Steaks Facebook page at: Facebook.com/OmahaSteaks from January 9 through February 29th, 2012. Users built ultimate burgers by selecting from a list of more than 50 ingredients and were offered the opportunity to preference which charity it should be donated to upon completion. Participants increased the number of votes for their chosen charity by encouraging friends and family to vote for their ultimate burger creations. In the end, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society had garnered the most votes to win the challenge.
