Olympic Gold Medalist and Leading Rare Coin Retailer to Unveil NYC's First GOLD to go™ ATM and Launch Limited-Edition Bison Medal to Benefit the Wildlife Conservation Society at Historic Grand Reopening

NEW YORK, Aug. 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In conjunction with its historic grand reopening, legendary New York institution Stack's Bowers Galleries, a prestigious retailer and auctioneer of premium collectible coins, paper money and precious metals, is marking its 79^th anniversary with the launch of its first commemorative North American Bison medal, unveiling New York's first GOLD to go™ ATM, and presenting its newly remodeled Upper West Side location. The medal will benefit the Wildlife Conservation Society's (WCS) renewed Bison Restoration Project underway at the world famous Bronx Zoo. Olympic gold medalist, swimmer Brendan Hansen, 2012 gold medal recipient in the 4X100 medley relay, along with representatives of the WCS and numismatic legends Harvey and Larry Stack, will be in attendance to host the ribbon cutting and unveiling on Thursday, August 23, 2012, at the 123 West 57^th St. location at 9 a.m.

The North American Bison medal will be produced in two versions: a one ounce silver piece and one-half ounce silver piece. The front of the medal depicts an image of the bison at Yellowstone National Park. The reverse sides feature two separate iconic images of the Bronx Zoo. The medals will retail for $79.95 for the one ounce piece and $39.95 for the half-ounce piece.

The GOLD to go™ ATM will be a first for New York City. Customers will be able to purchase a variety of gold and silver bar and coin products during store hours, including the Bison medals. This ATM joins only two others operating in the U.S. — one in Las Vegas, and another in Atlantic City.
