AURORA, Ill., April 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Old Second Bank recently added three commercial officers to the Tri-City region.
Charles "Chip" A. Barber of Geneva was named senior vice president-commercial lending at Old Second Bank, based in the Batavia branch at 1991 W. Wilson St. He will be responsible for the development of new business for commercial loan and deposit products to serve business owners of the Tri-Cities.

Prior to joining Old Second, Barber served as vice-president-commercial services with Providence Bank in Wheaton, regional president at First State Bancorporation in Wheaton, executive vice president-senior lender with First Choice Bancorporation in Geneva, senior vice president-chief lending officer at Heritage Community Bancorporation in Glenwood, and vice president-division head of commercial banking in Bensenville for American National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago.
Barber earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is also a certified public accountant. He is past president of Rotary Club of Geneva, a member of the endowment committee of the United Methodist Church of Geneva, a board member with the Cosley Zoo Foundation in Wheaton, a board member of the University of Illinois College of Business Alumni Association, and past coat of Tri-Cities Soccer, Geneva Girls Travel Basketball, and Geneva Foxes Girls Softball.
Robert A. Ferrigan Jr. of Geneva was named senior vice president at Old Second Bank, based in the St. Charles branch at 801 S. Kirk Rd. he will generate new commercial loans for the bank with an emphasis on businesses in Kane, DuPage, and Kendall Counties.
Ferrigan has over 25 years of experience in lending, previously serving as senior vice president of business banking at Citizens Financial Bank, senior vice president of business banking at MidAmerica Bank, and regional vice president-west region business banking at Old Kent Bank.
Ferrigan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Elmhurst College. His community involvement includes service as immediate past president and member of the Rotary Club of Darien, assistant district governor nominee – Rotary International District #6450, committee chairperson with Boy Scout Troop One in St. Charles, assistant treasurer and member of St. Marks Church in St. Charles, and a member of the St. Charles Moose Lodge.
Layne Burns of Batavia was named vice president at Old Second Bank, operating from the Batavia branch at 1991 W. Wilson St. He will be responsible for soliciting commercial loans with an emphasis on real estate.
Previously, Burns served as vice president of real estate with Bank Mutual and vice president of real estate with M&I Bank. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Northern Illinois University. He is also a member of the Milwaukee School of Engineering's Executive Motorcycle Club, a member of International Council of Shopping Center, and a past coach of girls' softball and basketball.
