Oklahoma farmland, recreational land to be offered in two auctions June 24-25
SULPHUR, Okla., May 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Approximately 794 acres of Oklahoma land – including farmland, a watershed lake, recreational land and other rural property in three Oklahoma counties – will be offered in back-to-back auctions June 24 and 25, with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company managing the event.
The first day's auction – set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at the Murray County Expo Center in Sulphur – will feature approximately 550 acres in Murray County, two miles north of Davis along State Highway 77. The land, offered in seven tracts ranging from 14 acres to 177 acres, includes productive bottomland and is approximately 88 percent tillable.
"These auctions will give bidders a lot of options, especially on the land in Murray County. Most of the tillable acreage there is being offered in five tracts, and bidders may bid on one tract or several. Someone seeking a mixture of grassland and mature trees for pasture use or potential building sites should consider the tracts fronting Highway 77. And of course, bidders can also bid on the entirety," said Brent Wellings, Southwest regional manager for Schrader.
Properties in Grady and Canadian Counties will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, at the Grady County Fairgrounds in Chickasha. The Grady County land – 170 acres being offered in a single tract – consists of approximately 40 percent tillable land, 40 percent timberland and 20 percent water – primarily a large watershed eight miles southeast of Lindsay, Okla.
"The Grady County land is a good opportunity to obtain some quality tillable land, as well as some nice recreational land with abundant waterfowl, whitetail deer and wild turkey," said Wellings.
Another 74-acre tract is a combination of farmland, recreational land and spring fed water just southeast of Hinton, Okla., along State Highway 37.
Schrader personnel will be available on June 4 and June 18, or by appointment, to guide inspections and provide detailed information for prospective bidders. Additional detailed auction information is available by visiting www.schraderauction.com or by calling 800-451-2709.
