OKI Announces Avery Dennison ICS Performance Guarantee for ColorPainter™ Printer Series

IRVING, Texas, June 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- OKI Data Americas, a world-class printing technology leader, today announced its ColorPainter™ series of printers has earned an ICS Performance Guarantee from Avery Dennison that guarantees ColorPainter graphic output for up to seven years. The program has launched in the North American market and will expand globally to other regions.  

With continued commitment to providing durable print solutions for wraps and wide format signage professionals, OKI participated in Avery Dennison's rigorous solution performance evaluation process. The Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions technical team performed extensive durability testing and qualified that graphics printed from a ColorPainter printer using OKI's IP5-22x and IP6-22x SX low-odor, eco-solvent inks for the E-64s, M-64s and H3-104s, and Avery Dennison's top-of-the-range MPI 1105 SuperCast Series media were guaranteed for seven years when laminated with Avery Dennison's approved overlaminates, or five years when images are protected with Nazdar 3539 screen applied clearcoat.

In addition to its durability testing, Avery Dennison conducted tests with OKI inks to determine best practices for using overlaminates on printed graphics. The tests found that the necessary pre-lamination outgassing period for ColorPainter printers and their SX inks is eight hoursⁱ when properly ventilated, one-third of the 24-hour industry standard for solvent printers.
