Oilfield Instrumentation Completes Certified, Customized Offshore Building in Three Weeks
HOUSTON, Nov. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Oilfield Instrumentation (OI), a provider of real-time drilling instrumentation and customized hazardous environment buildings, announced a new company record for its three-week completion of an 8x16 foot, DNV 2.7-1 certified lab for use on a deep-water platform.
OI was able to expedite the custom order for the Riser Control Station by modifying a structure that was in the process of being manufactured for its rental fleet of DNV 2.7-1 certified buildings.
"Oilfield Instrumentation's goal of continually upgrading and expanding our existing fleet of certified buildings provides customers with opportunities to acquire our high quality structures for their quick-turn upgrade needs," remarked Peyton Reddick, OI president.
"We recognize there is a very fast-paced environment at work in Gulf operations and we are constantly improving the quality and quantity of our fleet of structures to serve this need. In this situation, our client's request came at a very opportune time, but this is quite typical of our manufacturing pipeline right now."
Due to the deadline-driven nature of the building's design and manufacture, the client's representatives were invited to view its actual construction on-site. The hands-on collaboration between Oilfield Instrumentation and the client ensured that the design and construction met their specialized needs, while OI provided the expertise needed for certifications.
"We excel in today's 'need it yesterday' atmosphere and we have the equipment, structure and personnel in place to continue providing these sorts of order fulfillment turnarounds," Reddick said.
