BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Oct. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- OHL, a leading global third party logistics company (3PL), has upgraded to Oracle Exadata Database Machine, the highest-performing and most-available platform for running Oracle databases. This upgrade supports OHL's technology initiative of having a highly available technology support system, which includes adding additional redundancy not only between its two data centers, but at the database level as well.
"Customers like OHL want their data management to be as simple and efficient as possible, so they can remain focused on their core business," said Juan Loaiza, senior vice president Systems Technology, Oracle. "With software and hardware engineered together, Oracle Exadata delivers a fully integrated data management platform that delivers the best database performance for OHL's workload, enabling them to do business faster, more securely and more reliably."
OHL will now operate Oracle Exadata systems running Oracle Linux as part of a converged infrastructure in its two data centers, one located in Texas and one in Tennessee. The technology upgrade in both data centers enables OHL to operate in a high availability environment with redundant database servers and storage in a single consolidated platform.
Eric Douglas, Chief Information Officer, OHL stated, "OHL's technology stack is built upon Oracle Database technology. Making the decision to procure and install the best engineered system in the industry was easy. Processing speed, scale, availability and support were important factors in making the decision to go with Oracle."
