Ohio Company Brings Jobs Back to the U.S.
EdenPURE offering American made Heater models
NORTH CANTON, Ohio, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The EdenPURE Heater has been on the market for 5 years. Nationally advertised in all media facets, it has been a staple in many homes across the U.S. to help defray rising fuel heating costs. Endorsed by the late Paul Harvey and currently by Bob Vila, it has been a benefit product for many families. Adding to the list of benefits of the EdenPURE Heater, it is now available in an American made model. To this point, it has been a challenge to manufacture the product in the U.S. due to high part and labor costs. However, the company that manufactures the EdenPURE, Suarez Corporation Industries (SCI), based in North Canton, OH, has been hard at work on an American model that will soon be available to all consumers.

SCI, a believer in community support and local economy stimulation, was proud to move forward with a project that would bring jobs to their community and would yield a quality American made product for consumers. This vision came to fruition in late 2008 when Pinnacle Systems, another family-owned company in North Canton, OH, agreed to the challenge of manufacturing the EdenPURE Heater entirely in the U.S.
Owner and Chief Engineer Neil Tyburk set out to redesign the EdenPURE to make assembly more efficient and cost effective. Tyburk scoured the country looking for American made parts to use in the heater's new design. Manufacturers in Ohio and several other states collaborated with Tyburk to provide the components for the heater. "Everyone had suggestions on how their parts could lower costs and increase efficiency," Tyburk said. "They all cared enough to want new business to bring jobs to their companies and to the U.S."
SCI said 78 jobs have already been created locally by the project and it has caused a ripple effect, creating and strengthening jobs with suppliers. Some of the American innovations to the heater include a longer lasting and more energy efficient infrared bulb created by Sylvania. SCI also now has environmentally friendly packaging for the heater; layers of specially designed cardboard for shipping rather than plastic foam.
"Americans never stop looking for more efficient and better ways to solve problems," Tyburk said. "We put Americans to work and made everyone see we can manufacture in the U.S. and build smarter."
SCI is now conducting regional testing on the American EdenPURE Heater.
