Ogilvy PR/New York Adds Five Across Brand Marketing, Social@Ogilvy, and Business Development
NEW YORK, Dec. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Ogilvy Public Relations (Ogilvy PR), an integrated global communications firm, announced today five new hires in its New York office: April Scott, Executive Vice President and Group Director, Social@Ogilvy; Lindsay Garrison, Senior Vice President, Brand Marketing; Kate Simpson, Account Director, Brand Marketing; Mary Salvaggio, Account Director, Brand Marketing; and Janet Sousa, New Business Manager. These key hires strengthen the agency's Social@Ogilvy, Technology and Brand Marketing practices as well as business development initiatives.

April Scott joins Social@Ogilvy as Executive Vice President and New York Group Director, bringing more than 20 years of experience in marketing and communications, with a focus on social and digital marketing strategies. Scott will lead the New York Social@Ogilvy practice, named 2013 best digital consultancy in the world by The Holmes Report, overseeing client accounts, business development and operations. Most recently, Scott worked at Digitas LBI in Paris and London as Director Counsel of Social and Digital Engagement, leading global branding efforts, marketing strategies and process improvements while providing strategic digital and social counsel for top International brands. Previously, she worked at Gaylord Entertainment/Marriott International as Executive Director: Social Media, Marketing and Public Relations, and held positions at Tres Creative and Vanderbilt University.
Lindsay Garrison joins the New York Brand Marketing practice as Senior Vice President, managing the LG Electronics account in the US. Garrison has over 12 years of experience in strategic brand building, consumer public relations and event marketing. Previously, she served as a Vice President at Edelman in both New York and Atlanta, Georgia, in their consumer marketing practice. At Edelman, Garrison serviced clients across the retail and food service industry such as Heinz, Mondelez International, Unilever Dove and Starbucks, as well as technology brands eBay and GE, among others. Before that, she spent seven years supporting consumer marketing clients at Manning, Selvage & Lee in Atlanta, Georgia.
Kate Simpson, Account Director, brings 8 years experience in consumer and fashion public relations, brand strategy and event marketing to the New York Brand Marketing practice, where she supports American Express. Most recently, Simpson worked at MWW as an Account Supervisor, managing multiple accounts and developing integrated public relations programs for clients such as Hillshire Brands, McDonald's, OfficeMax, Frontier Airlines, Nutrisystem, among others. Previously, she worked at Factory PR supporting fashion clients from couture to ready-to-wear to retail and executing programs like the Macy's Make Over America tour. Simpson also worked at Dream Careers, marketing the Los Angeles program.
Mary Salvaggio joins the New York Brand Marketing practice as an Account Director, supporting LG Electronics across multiple business units. Salvaggio previously served as an Account Supervisor at Dan Klores Communications, where she developed and implemented communications and media strategy across both traditional and emerging media channels for clients including AARP Media Sales, Conde Nast, Disney Interactive, McAfee, and Yahoo!, among others. Prior to that, she held positions at international marketing agency, Metia, Inc. and Waggener Edstrom Worldwide.
Janet Sousa, New Business Manager, oversees business development initiatives in the New York office across all practices. Sousa previously worked as a Senior Specialist, Business Development at Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, providing strategic counsel and analysis to practice and regional leads to identify and respond to new business and organic growth opportunities. Prior to that, she worked in the corporate practice at Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, supporting media relations efforts for clients including Mastercard, Chevron and Microsoft. She also held stints at ABC News Now and the United States Council for International Business.
