Ogilvy PR's Suresh Raj Honored for Top 100 UPstanding Executive Power List
NEW YORK, May 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ogilvy PR Managing Director of Global Business Development Suresh Raj, was awarded as one of the Top 100 ethnic-minority members for the inaugural UPstanding Executive Power List. The ethnic-minority role models have actively supported ethnic inclusion in the workplace and have proved that race need not be a barrier to success.
According to Audeliss, the UPstanding Executive Power List honors outstanding work that is carried out by the BAME (black, Asian and minority ethnic – including Hispanic and Middle Eastern) business community in the US, UK and Ireland, which highlights the importance of representing gender diversity in the c-suite and boardroom.
Audeliss' most recent findings show that despite BAME communities representing 14% of UK's population, only 4% of business leaders are listed on the FTSE 100 as BAME members. In response to this, UPstanding is honoring the Top 100 BAME business executives from the UK US and Ireland to improve and highlight BAME's agenda.
Stuart Smith, Ogilvy PR's Global CEO, has said: "Diversity and inclusion is important to Ogilvy PR because it is the right thing to do. Period. It's right for our people, it's right for our clients and it's right for our business." Of this recognition, he added: "I'm delighted for Suresh and Ogilvy to be included amongst this esteemed community."
The Top 100 executives were selected based on professional and business achievement, how they advanced the BAME agenda within their community and the workplace, and professional seniority and influence within their organization.
OUTstanding CEO and founder Suki Sandhu said, "We are delighted to honor Suresh Raj from Ogilvy PR featuring in the inaugural Upstanding Executive Power List. Suresh's diverse talent and exceptional achievement has made an impact in the PR industry, and he sets an example for the next generation so no one sees their race as a barrier to success."
