Ogilvy Group Belgium Awarded DG Environment Framework Contract for 'Strategic Development and Implementation of Communication Campaigns'
BRUSSELS, Dec. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Ogilvy Group Belgium today announced that it has been awarded the framework contract for strategic communication campaigns for the European Commission's Directorate-General for the Environment. The contract is worth a maximum of 2.5 million euro per year and is renewable twice for a total contract period of three years. Ogilvy PR/ Brussels will manage the relationship with the Commission, working closely on the campaigns with Ogilvy & Mather / Brussels and experts from the agency's network across Europe.
The win of the framework contract follows the award-winning campaign "Biodiversity – We are all in this together" (www.weareallinthistogether.eu), created by Ogilvy Group Belgium on behalf of the European Commission earlier this year. The pan-European campaign rolled out in all 27 EU Member States and featured a website, a Facebook application, a film, public relations outreach, street art (green graffiti technique) and advertisements in print and online media.
"This win is validation of Ogilvy Group Belgium's unique integrated communications approach," explains Ogilvy Group/ Brussels CEO Koen Van Impe. "It rewards the combination of talents in the Public Relations, Advertising and digital teams."
"This win is also in line with our experience with environmental communications, and the strength of the Ogilvy network across Europe," says Ogilvy PR/Brussels Managing Director Jeff Chertack. "We look forward to continuing our partnership with the European Commission to create communications that engage citizens and result in attitude and behavior change towards the environment."
The newly awarded contract encompasses the "A to Z" development and implementation of 360-degree communication activities from the development of campaign strategy to creative work, graphical design, audiovisual and online production, public relations and social media.
Project leader and head of sustainability communications in Ogilvy PR/Brussels Laure Van Hauwaert said, "I look forward to working with the Commission to build on our successful partnership spanning more than a decade. This work will continue to build Ogilvy's leadership position in the area of environment and sustainability communications within the European market."
The work will commence with a campaign about resource efficiency, a central theme for DG Environment activities in 2011. The objective of this first campaign will be to encourage European citizens to change their behavioral patterns to more sustainable choices. The campaign will be launched in the Autumn, 2011.
