Ogden Clinic Opens New Sports Medicine Specialty

"We're thrilled to add sports medicine to Ogden Clinic's growing list of specialties," said Ogden Clinic CEO Paul Schofield. "We believe it will be a tremendous asset to active families in our area. Our sports medicine specialists will work closely with our orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists and primary care physicians to provide the most comprehensive athletic and active-lifestyle healthcare in Northern Utah."

The sports medicine specialty will be directed by Ogden Clinic physician, Dr. Brett Martindale.

Dr. Martindale has a special interest in sports medicine. After receiving his undergraduate education from Brigham Young University, Dr. Martindale went on to the Ohio State University to obtain his doctorate in medicine. He returned to Utah to complete a residency at McKay-Dee Hospital followed by a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Utah Valley Hospital.

"Sports medicine isn't just for high-level athletes," said Dr. Martindale. "Sports medicine benefits patients of all ages and athletic ability. It addresses a wide range of injuries, from acute injuries like sprains and dislocations to overuse injuries like stress fractures and tendonitis.
