OfficeTeam Names Eileen Behr as Sixth Annual Administrative Excellence Award Winner
MENLO PARK, Calif., July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Eileen Behr, CPS/CAP, administrative assistant at SRI International, a scientific research institute based in Menlo Park, Calif., has been selected as the winner of the 2010 OfficeTeam Administrative Excellence Award. This is the sixth year OfficeTeam has partnered with the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) to recognize an administrative professional who demonstrates a commitment to leadership and professional development and identifies business efficiencies. Other supporters of the award include CareerBuilder, Dress for Success, MeasureUp, OfficeArrow and SkillSoft.
Two additional professionals also were recognized as runners-up of the award. Linda Harr, CPS/CAP, of Monsanto in St. Louis and Christina Walters of the Social Planning and Research Council in Hamilton, Ontario were honored for their contributions to their employers and the administrative profession.
"The OfficeTeam Administrative Excellence Award acknowledges the hard work and meaningful contributions of administrative staff everywhere," said Robert Hosking, executive director of OfficeTeam, a leading staffing service specializing in the placement of highly skilled office and administrative support professionals. "Eileen Behr's leadership skills, commitment to education and drive make her a remarkable representative of the administrative profession."
Behr was honored today at IAAP's International Education Forum & Annual Meeting in Boston. More information about the nomination process, judging criteria and prize package can be found at www.officeteamaward.com.
Behr's ability to initiate change and go beyond the basic scope of her duties has made her a valued employee at SRI and earned her recognition from both managers and coworkers. When Behr realized her group's Excel training program wasn't meeting employee needs, she worked to make updates. She also learned Microsoft Office Suite 2007 before her coworkers so she could train others and assisted in making her team's reports compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. Behr has been praised for developing and maintaining her work group's wiki, as well. It has become a critical tool for accessing organizational resources.
In addition to the contributions she makes on the job, Behr is the incoming president of the El Camino chapter of IAAP and has held the secretary, webmaster and program chair positions. Behr also has served as president, secretary and vice president of public relations for the SRI Organon Toastmasters Club. She holds the Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) and Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) designations.
"The International Association of Administrative Professionals honors Eileen Behr and her peers in the administrative field for their outstanding accomplishments and commitment to the profession," said Susan Shamali, CPS/CAP, IAAP's 2009-10 international president.
