NAPERVILLE, Ill., Oct. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- OfficeMax® Incorporated (NYSE:OMX), a leader in office and facility supplies, technology and services, today announced its marquee sponsorship of the 2012 Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Chicago Gala Dinner & Auction.
The 2012 HRC Chicago Gala will take place October 20th at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park. Themed "Make Equality Count!," the event will offer guests the opportunity to dance, dine and vie for silent auction prizes.
"OfficeMax promotes an inclusive culture that embraces the diversity of our associates, business partners and customers," said Carolynn Brooks, vice president, chief diversity officer at OfficeMax. "The Human Rights Campaign's mission is a reflection of our corporate culture of acceptance and equality. We are proud to support an organization that has such a positive impact within our Chicagoland community."
OfficeMax has a strong presence in the Chicagoland area, serving local businesses and consumers through an integrated sales and customer service team, and more than 40 stores and two distribution facilities in the immediate region. OfficeMax multi-national headquarters are also located in Naperville. The company is dedicated to the growth and improvement of Chicago, and is involved in the community through various activities including the recent sponsorship of the annual OfficeMax Green Tie Ball in conjunction with Chicago Gateway Green, as well as being the title sponsor of the upcoming Hockey City Classic in February 2013.
Diversity and Inclusion is a critical strategic initiative for OfficeMax.
